Scan your Facebook News Feed for Malicious Links with Norton Safe Web
at
Lately, a lot of Facebook scams have been spreading like wild fire, considering which, users really have to worry before clicking on a link from a friend on their news feed. So, Symantec - makers of the popular Norton Anti-Virus software, have come up with a Facebook App called Norton Safe Web, that scans your Facebook News Feed along with your wall to see if they contain links that are unsafe to click on by identifying URLs containing security risks such as phishing sites, malicious downloads and links to unsafe external sites.
But note that this isn’t retro-active i.e. Norton Safe Web for Facebook only scans your news feed for links that were shared within the past 24 hours. So to ensure an even safer experience on Facebook, you can enable auto-scan from the scan summary page to effortlessly and automatically have Safe Web check your news feed for malicious links periodically and notify you if unsafe links are found.
To get protection beyond Facebook, you can download the free Norton Safe Web Lite.
